Mental Health First Aid: Training for MSU Youth and Pre-College Program Directors and Coordinators

Friday, April 12, 2019 at 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Participant check-in will be held from 8:00-8:30 a.m., and instruction will be held at 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

 

Purpose

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training prepares MSU Youth and Pre-College Program directors and coordinators to provide initial help to a person showing symptoms of mental illness or in a mental health crisis (e.g. severe depression, psychosis, panic attack, suicidal thoughts and behaviors) until appropriate professional help can be engaged.

 

This event will be limited to 35 participants who can attend the entire program. Advanced registration is required by Tuesday, March 12.

Intended Audience

While this development program is intended for MSU Youth and Pre-College Program Directors and Coordinators, Assistant Directors and Assistant Coordinators are also welcome to attend.

 

Light refreshments will be provided. Lunch will be provided at the Brody Square dining hall.

 

This program is co-sponsored by the MSU Pre-College Committee and the Office of the Provost.
